Prolific and experienced Dark Souls speedrunner Distortion2 continues to break records for speedrunning for Elden Ring. Distortion2 has already beaten Elden Ring Runes in under 37 minutes. This could be the record-breaking time for the fastest time to finish.
In a clip posted earlier in the day, Distortion2 was able to complete Elden Ring in just 36 minutes and 20 seconds. While the speedrunning community and the categories in the area of Elden Ring are still forming It is believed it's the most efficient "Any%" speedrun from the recently released RPG.
While it's impressive to beat such a large and often difficult game so fast, what is even more impressive is the fact that Distortion2 has been in a flurry lately. He just made what is believed to be the first sub-40 minute completion run of the game. And the day before that he won the game by less than 50 minutes. He is believed to be one of/if not the first person to accomplish this feat.
Since this is an "Any percent" run, Distorition2 isn't required to go through all steps, obtain all the runes or do everything else necessary to move forward in the game. The goal of these types of runs is to reach the finish line and reach the credits as quickly as possible by using every method and methods you can.
With time as the community of speedrunners that is centered around Elden Ring forms and begins formulating rules, categories and even capturing the runs, we'll probably be seeing players beat the game with no effort or with no issues. But for now Distortion2's performances are amazing to watch, particularly when you consider how many people need weeks to beat games like Elden Ring.
Distortion2 streams live every day and is constantly trying to improve his record with the goal of getting the overall time below 30 minutes. If you'd like to follow him live, check him out on Twitch.
In related Elden Ring speedrunning news, earlier this week, another racer on YouTube managed to complete elden ring items buy online in about two hours and did so without dying. In the meantime, I'm and spending two hours in the most RPG character creation sections.
